An International Women’s Day Message from Good Egg

In the global workforce, only 28% of top management positions are held by women, and only 1 in 16 high-level leaders are women of colour. This lack of representation is a vicious cycle and continues to collectively hold us back.

This isn’t set to change any time soon, either: at the current rate of progress, global gender parity is expected to take as long as 189 years. We won’t live to see it, and neither will our nieces, daughters, or granddaughters. International Women’s Day started as a protest, and ongoing, intersectional action is still very much needed.

At Good Egg, we are committed to taking consistent action to accelerate gender parity. We will continue to offer free business support to women and other marginalised genders via our Sisterhood Support program. As of this year, we will also be donating a percentage of our profits to two inclusive, intersectional charities that are supporting women and other marginalised genders:

This year, we’ll be donating a percentage of our profits to:

    • Nomi Network, whose mission is to end human trafficking and create economic opportunities for survivors and women at risk of human trafficking
    • Mermaids, who support trans, non-binary and gender diverse young people and families

We’ll also be investing in carbon offsetting for Good Egg. UN studies have found that women and girls experience the greatest impacts of climate change, which will only amplify existing gender inequality.

We are standing in solidarity with women worldwide who are surviving, thriving, and paving the way for future generations of women and girls. There’s room for all of us to succeed, and when one of us wins, we all win.

P.S. We’re posting this on International Women’s Day (March 8th 2024), and will update with more details as we go.
